With summer only just getting started, (yes, it’s June.. but I think we can all agree it’s been a wet one) festival season is back in full swing, with weekend upon weekend for the next 4 months – taken up with music, vibes and alcohol. With this in mind, the STOA team hit the newly re-located Field Day Festival, fresh into its new setting behind IKEA in Merdian Water, Edmonton.
The new location was perfectly sized and planned out to ensure walking distance was kept to a minimum, yet energy was at a maximum. With a main stage that saw the likes of Mahalia, Jungle and Pusha T perform, to the industrial warehouse settings that saw Bonobo, Octavian and Seth Troxler grace the stage – the atmosphere was electric. However, that was nothing compared to the energy Skepta brought to the first headline night and the prowess Jorja Smith graced the stage with on the second. These two UK artists, truly captured a crowd who were more than satisfied by the day’s events.
Field Day was well organised, (apart from the cancellation of one or two artists earlier in the day due to weather – but will let that slide) well located and with a new license keeping the festival jumping until 2am.. It was a well thought-out festival we would highly recommend you check out when tickets release again next year.
STOA teamed up with Brixton Apparel to shoot some of their new collection in and among the festival crowd. C wears the Dimension 1/4 zip, Madrid II Drawstrong Short and Wheelie LP cap. J wears the Peabody II Longsleeve, Madrid II Corduroy Short and Oath Bucket.
